Welcome to the Township of St. Joseph on beautiful St. Joseph Island!  

St. Joseph Island is located approximately 40km east of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada on Highway 17 East and has been linked to the mainland by bridge since 1972.   The Township of St. Joseph occupies the northern portion of the Island and includes the town of Richards Landing on its northern shore.  The Township is home over 1,100 year-round residents and hundreds more summer visitors, many who’ve returned to the Island every summer for generations.

A quiet and secure place to live and visit, the Township of St. Joseph offers all the necessities. Whether you are just visiting, staying a few weeks, or choose to make the Township of St. Joseph your home, you will find this to be a community full of warmth and welcome.
