Welcome to the Richards Landing Municipal Marina - where you'll always find a safe harbour with friendly staff waiting to serve you.
As St. Joseph Island's main business centre, Richards Landing offers everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one... shopping, parks, fuel, restaurants, events and friendly folks.
The Richards Landing Municipal Marina is located at the end of the main street, just a few steps from the town centre. This is a full service marina, open 7 days a week during boating season with fuel, shower and laundry facilities, and a Boaters’ Lounge.
Slips in the original East Basin have power and water at dockside, shoreline walkway and adjoining grassy area with picnic tables which makes a great place to set up the BBQ. The West Basin offers seasonal and transient slips with water and power at dockside, as well as controlled access for maximum privacy.
Boaters will find fuel - both gas and diesel - clean washrooms and family style showers for their exclusive use, pump-out, launch ramp and friendly staff waiting to assist you. Looking for a shady area? Cenotaph Park with its large shade trees and paved walkways is only a few steps away.
Also located on the marina site is The Lighthouse Grill. The Lighthouse Grill is a great place to get a hot meal or enjoy a cold beverage. The view of the St. Joseph Channel, marina and the bridge to the mainland make it one of the Island's most popular eateries.

Shoal Island Lighthouse
The Shoal Island Lighthouse was constructed in 1910 (replacing the original 1880 structure) to aid marine traffic along the north
shore of St. Joseph Island. Initially the lighthouse was a navigational aid for passenger and freight (notably timber and commercial fishing) vessels bound for Richards Landing from other North Shore and Lake Huron communities. The Lighthouse was manned by a keeper until 1957, and thus has a unique structure with a hip-roofed dwelling portion and a wooden light tower. The Lighthouse is still functional as a navigational aid for recreational boaters; it is also a distinctive landmark of the island and is of high historical interest as part of our heritage and culture.
