Roads & Works Department
The Township's Works Department is responsible for transportation services and maintenance of municipal buildings and community facilities (i.e. parks, recreation facilities). This department has a full range of equipment including a road grader, a new dump truck with winter road maintenance attachments, backhoe with front end loader, pick-up truck and lawn tractor with grass mower, snow blower and sweeper attachments.
This department is responsible for both summer and winter maintenance of nearly 100 km of two lane roadways of which nearly 50% are hard surfaced, and also for the seasonal maintenance of recreational facilities such as parks in summer and an ice skating rink in winter, as well as all municipally owned buildings and structures.
Three full-time employees and a number of seasonal and part-time workers are employed to carry out these duties.
